Here is my 100 words.
The morning dew clung to the bent and twisted tress where several men in confederate gray sat around a campfire.
“I see them bastards out there beyond the mist.” A one-eyed veteran spat.
“I remember them in ’62 sittin’ out there in all their finery, come to watch they do, like we’s some kinda spectacle.” Another said.
A bugle broke the silence of the damp air and the thunder of hoofbeats roused the camp.
“Look alive boys! We’ll give ‘em hell this time.” A tall impressive officer, the palid color of a corpse approached as the others snapped to attention.

Ewww.."...the palid color of a corpse..." gives it a morbid flavor to the story. Very well done! :)
This story led me down several paths. The enduring nature of the spirits of the dead and the view of our world from their viewpoint.
Wonderful work (from work:) (I won't tell.)
Welcome aboard.
Yours,
Doug
Takin' us back in time. :D Great dialogue, too. Just feels authentic.
Loved it!
